Along with several development plans, the developing countries in the Southeast Asia are neglecting the salience of intellectual property rights (IPRs). In December, the 2^nd international conference on IPRs in developing countries was co-hosted with a Japanese university and JETRO Bangkok in Thailand, in which HEIP-LINK earned attention from the regional professors and experts.

Japan, Thailand and Vietnam shared the ideas, concerns and challenges in their country and pointed out that trans-boundary co-operation, public awareness enhancement, stricter punishment on counterfeit issues were necessary.
